Volunteers! When you are doing it all … in discussion with Abby Golden and Chris Joseph for Community Governance Aotearoa

This session I facilitated a panel considering volunteer organisations which was put on by Community Governance Aotearoa.  I am grateful to Rose and Alice and the team there for letting me put up the audio of the session on Seeds Podcast as well.

Volunteer boards (sports clubs, waka ama, arts groups and more) are the backbone of Aotearoa’s not-for-profit sector. When there’s no paid staff, committees and boards often juggle governance and operations, everything from managing subscriptions to compliance and community engagement.

This talk is for anyone asking: How do we do it all and still lead well?

Practical, actionable, and designed for community governance leaders.

Our panelists for this talk were:

Steven MoePartner at Parry Field Lawyers, specialising in social enterprises, not for profits

Abby Golden – Co-founder at Te Ara Tīrama Charitable Trust

Chris Joseph – Executive Director at Volunteer Kāpiti
