Board Matters

Board Matters Podcast is hosted by Steven Moe on leadership and governance with three seasons for the New Zealand Institute of Directors.

For the Institute of Directors of New Zealand have recorded three seasons of this podcast on leadership and governance here. There are now more than 20 episodes to listen to.

In Season 3 we looked at What does it mean to create a safe space in the boardroom and how will this enable diverse perspectives to be shared, while making room for rigorous debate and discussion?  That’s the premise of Board Matters Season 3.

Over five episodes, I spoke to directors from different industries to delve into what it means to carve out an environment in the boardroom that is equitable and without judgement – and why this is more important now than ever before.

You can find the show in all podcasting apps as well as Spotify | Apple | iHeartRadio | Google Podcasts | Amazon Music

Season 1 theme was  “what would the title of your own book on governance be, and why?”

Season 2 theme was “What makes governance unique in New Zealand and what needs to change?” and we explored the ins and outs of issues that are top of mind for directors across a range of industries from forestry to architecture, the arts and construction to infrastructure and law, with topics that include future strategies, effective decision making, resourcing for not-for-profits, risk, the role of health and safety, and the mistakes made far too often by SMEs.
