The Apple Tree by Steve Moe with illustrations by Cricket McCormick – published in paperback by Seeds Press.
Author Steven Moe is a podcaster among other things – he runs this podcast and book for people who do amazing things but wonder whether it is all worth it when results are not seen straight away.
The Book tells the story of an apple tree who grows by a river and whose fruit each year falls into the river – as the tree grows older it is not happy with the amount of apples lost to the water.
An old man returns to the tree with his grand-daughter and the tree listens and finds out the apples have carried on along the river and landed on the land – around the corner the fallen fruit has turned to trees all along the river bank.
An interesting story and a soft meaningful illustration puts the reader in a good place and urges them to look a bit futher on… maybe their work is rewarded – but not just straight away.
The illustrations colouful and add enlightenment to the text that is wordy but relevant – a story to be read aloud rather than read by a young child.
The message will be listened to and evently after several readings the story will given meaning.
Both writer and illustrator should be rewarded with good sales – this a good story that is aided by a good text and accompanying illustrations.

An apple tree growing by a river, is upset as each year its fruit falls into the water. However, an old man returns to the tree with his granddaughter and the tree finds out its apples have carried on along the river and landed on the land, causing more apple trees to grow. Not just a picture book but an inspiring story about what we can’t always see.
